JOHN CALVIN GARDENIER

JOHN CALVIN GARDENIER, of Hillsdale, was born in Woodcliff, Bergen
County. N. J., December 30, 1868. He is the son of Garret H. and Alvina
(Post) Gardenier and a grandson of Henry Gardenier and Jane Post.
He received his education in the public schools of Hillsdale, Bergen County,
whither his parents removed when he was young. At the age of eighteen
he established himself in the livery business at Hillsdale, and has since continued
in that line, having now one of the best livery stables in the county. Mr. Gardenier is a public spirited citizen, active in the affairs of the community, and respected by all who know him. He attends the Dutch Reformed Church. He married Clara Ottignon and has one son, Harold Gardenier.
