SAMUEL P. FREIR

SAMUEL P. FREIR, of Hasbrouck Heights, was born near Boston in
Lincolnshire, England, and in 1882 came to this country. He received a
good preparatory and technical education, and is now in the employ of
the Western Union Telegraph Company as automatic expert, having introduced
the so-called Wheatstone automatic system of telegraphy from
England. He has patented several very valuable instruments which his
company have in daily use. He has achieved distinction in his profession,
is a man of eminent ability, and highly esteemed by all who know
him. Mr. Freir came to Hasbrouck Heights, N. J., in 1892. just at the time that place took on a new lease of life, and has been actively interested in its growth and welfare. He served six years as a member of the Council and in other capacities has contributed to local improvements. In politics he is a Republican. He is a prominent member of the Royal Arcanum and affiliated with all that tends to keep his town on the road to progress.
