JOSEPH KATZENBERGER

JOSEPH KATZENBERGER, of North Bergen, was born in Germany
about fifty-five years ago. He came to America about 1874 and first settled
in New York City, where he found employment as a brewer. In this capacity he was connected with several large breweries and gained much
practical experience. About 1885 he removed to Weehawken, N. J., and engaged in the brewing business. Later he moved to the Town of Union and for a time was connected with the Union Brewing Company. In the fall of 1895 he settled in North Bergen and became a partner in the Roland Brewing Company, with which he is still identified. He served for a time in the German Army before coming to America. In politics he is a Democrat. He is a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen. He married Madeline Muller, daughter of Frederick Muller, of Germany. They have one son, William, born in Germany, May 7, 1874.
