BERNHARD ROGGE

BERNHARD ROGGE, of Weehawken, was born in North Germany, of an
old and respected family, on the 4th of October, 1874, his parents being
Diedrich Rogge and Eniilie Baedecker. His father and mother were natives
of the Fatherland, and possessed of sturdy characteristics.
While the subject of this article was yet a boy the family emigrated to America and settled in the Town of Union, N. J., where he received a public school education. Since leaving school Mr. Rogge has been engaged in the liquor business in Weehawken, Hudson County. His public spirit, patriotism, and interest in the welfare of the town and county have gained for him the confidence of all who know him. Mr. Rogge is a consistent Democrat, and a member of the German Lutheran Church, of the Free and Accepted Masons, and of other social and fraternal organizations. He married Miss Molly Restmeyer and has three children: Molly, Bernhard, Jr., and Henry.
