JOHN J. REILLY, of Bayonne, was born at Ulster Heights, Ulster County, N.Y., November 27, 1864. His parents, Michael Reilly and Mary Donovan, were natives of Ireland. They came to the United States when young and were married in Brooklyn, N. Y., whence they removed to Ulster County. In 1872 they came to Bayonne, N. J., where the subject of this sketch received a public school education.

After leaving school John J. Reilly engaged in the liquor business in Bayonne, in which he has since continued. He is a prominent and influential Democrat and for several years has been a leader in party affairs. He is a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, of Hook and Ladder Company No. 3, of Bayonne, and of St. Paul's Alliance Society.

Mr. Reilly was married, June 25, 1491, to Fannie Brothers, of Bayonne, Hudson County. They have four children: Mamie, Fannie, Agnes, and Michael Francis.
