Middlesex–New Brunswick–Old Bridge–Matawan – New Brunswick Radio Station

At 4.3 miles the towers of the NEW BRUNSWICK RADIO STATION, Radio Corporation of America's second largest wireless station, are seen (R) across Raritan River. The station (not open) is used for transoceanic and transcontinental code transmission. The group includes 13 large tubular steel masts, each 428 feet high, and 20 smaller towers for short-wave transmission.

The new STADIUM OF RUTGERS UNIVERSITY, completed in 1938 largely with WPA labor and funds, is at 5.5 miles (L). A 260-acre tract here provides for future growth of the university. The stadium can accommodate 20,000 spectators. In adjoining fields are facilities for baseball, football, lacrosse, soccer, polo, and golf.
