FREEHOLD, 26 miles (170 alt., 6,894 pop.) (see FREEHOLD).
Points of Interest; Monmouth County Historical Association Museum, St. Peter's
Episcopal Church, Freehold Race Track, Karagheusian Carpet Factory, and others.
At Freehold are the junctions with State 33 (see Tour 20) and Throckmorton St. (see Tour 18A).
Between Freehold and Lakewood is the northern end of the extensive
pine belt. In this section there is but a scattering of pine woods with oaks,
maples, and other trees of later growth.
