: I was tipped about this political message forum a few months ago and decided to take a closer look. As an out of state Political Observer, I decided to go down to Jersey City, which by the way is a disgusting and filthy city, to observe the special election for mayor. I managed to speak to hundreds of would be voters and I quickly realized that this race is very tight. However, according to the local polls, a candidate by the name of Louis Manzo was way in the lead or at least that’s what it seemed like. I have recently learned that there is a good chance that those polls showing Manzo way in the lead never really took place. As the race began to wind down, I concluded that this way a 3-person race. Then the strangest happened, a naked picture of the eventual winner began circulating around the city and eventually into the news. What looked like a potentially damaging incident for Healy, turned into a shot in the arm for Healy who admitted to the condition he find himself in when the photo was taken. This gave birth to a group of satellite supporters for Louis Manzo now known on the streets of Jersey City as the Grand Old Idiots (GOI). From what I have learned, this group is not directly linked to the Manzo Camp, but was thought to be behind the naked picture of Healy and the subsequent website which featured the picture in an all out propaganda campaign against Healy. My experience and many years of observing politics on all levels has taught me that when a politician is caught with his or her hand in the cookie jar or his or her pants down and admits fault, the general public usually views that positively. That’s exactly what happened here. The Healy camp not only admitted to the incident, but also spun it into a positive and rode it right into victory. If Louis Manzo or any other candidate has any hopes of ever becoming mayor of Jersey City all associations with groups like the GOI must end. The GOI has reportedly proclaimed the naked photo campaign a success. These incompetent idiots don’t see the errors of their ways, which is the point of my one time message on this forum. If these tactics carry over into the next election sometime in the spring of 2005, Mayor Healy and his entire family should all pose naked on their porch with each holding a longneck of Budweiser and invite all in the local media for a photo op. This will surely propel them to a landslide victory. Signing OFF……………….
