Small time hustlers like Jerry Letizia and Carl Czaplicki can't defeat common sense and intergity. The JCMUA has a man with these qualities, Chief Engineer Joe Beckmeyer. The Chief Engineer has opposed this deal from the outset but refuses to do so now because he needs a few more years in service to retire. Well its not that easy. Joe Beckmeyer is a professional with a code of conduct that compells him to do the right thing. Unlike Bill Macchi who ofter sees the truth but lacks the courage of his convictions to stand his ground when it really counts Joe Beckmeyer is a professional who must live up to his code of conduct. So we ask the Chief Engineer not to abandon us while we fight agasint these small time hoods and their plan to sell Jersey City out for their political pay increases and promotions.
