: : announced today that Guttenberg Councilman Javier Inclán will be the party
: : leadership's choice for County Clerk when County Democratic Committee
: : members meet Tuesday, September 9th, to choose a successor to the late Janet
: : Haynes.  If elected, Inclán, 32, would become the first Hispanic to hold
: : Countywide office in Hudson.  Approximately 40 percent of the County's
: : population is Hispanic.

: : "After careful consultation with a wide range of party leaders, it became

: : that Javier Inclán was the kind of bright, young person we needed to fill

: : Raised in Guttenberg, Inclán graduated from North Bergen High School and
: : earned a B.A. in History from William Paterson College.  His managerial

: : He first entered public office in 1998, when he was elected to the
: : Guttenberg
: : School Board.  Two years later, he was elected to the Town Council.  Inclán
: : has served as a member of Governor James E. McGreevey's transition team's
