What on earth is wrong with you ?

Not every post is from this Glazer guy - I AM NOT GLAZER.

You are the one with the Glazer fixation -

REMEMBER THERE IS A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE & HATE.

: OKAY GLAZER!

: : I found County Exec. Tom DeGise letter very crude and too political. I am upset that my tax dollars paid for what amounts to nothing more than a political flyer.

: : It is very apparent that DeGise is not the sharpest knife in the drawer - those advising him can't be that bright either.

: : PLEASE - Do not respond to this post calling me Glazer - I AM NOT GLAZER - I am just a taxpayer.

:
: : : County Executive Tom Degise's letter (please see the Link below) reacts to the above communication from Jersey City Mayor Glenn Cunningham to Jersey City property. Comparing the measured and relatively brief statement of Glenn Cunningham on July 10 to the Tom Degise's lengthy and very strongly worded recent letter, it's impossible to call the one a response to the other.

: : : What was the point of Tom Degise's verbal drive-by shooting? His opponents quickly say that it was clearly political. I have to wonder, to what end? Tom DeGise can't be worried about his Republcan opponent in November's election. Judge Ditalia's courtroom is the current politcal arena. Rants and broadsides are all wet powder there.

: : : Why did County Executive Degise (and/or Jim Kenelly) wait so long to try for a one-up? It's basically been two months since Mayor Cunningham's corrspondence went out with the tax bills. Was the hope that the average person had lost their copy of the note and would get the impression from Tom DeGise's hard words that personal insults were made? And again, why use the present as as the time to escalate and continue a feud?

: : : Why -- at taxpayer expense -- did Tom DeGise send the letter out by itself. The County produces all sorts of literature. Why not just slip the two sheets in with that stuff?

: : : Some might say that as Jersey City sends out the tax bill, it holds some sort of unfair advantage in communicating with property owners. My suggestion is that Jersey City no longer act as messenger and bill collector for the County and the Board of Education. Those entities should start acting as their own collection agencies. Then, property owners can clearly see with each and every bill where the money is going.

: : : Perhaps a brief historical digression won't hurt. In '68, the only real constraint Richard Nixon had on choosing a Vice President was that he had promised to overlook Nelson Rockefeller. Besides that, all he was really looking for was somebody that would not create a negative impression. Spiro Agnew was suggested. As Agnew was a centrist and had a very good reputation for working with minorities, the Nixon camp was overjoyed and happy to offer the governor of Maryland the job. Well into the first term, Pat Buchanan warned Nixon of a challenge from the Right from Wallace. Buchanan advised Nixon to veer strongly to the Reactionary side. Nixon feared that this policy would wind up costing more in Moderates than it gained in Conservatives. Finally it was decided to send Spiro Agnew out as the Conservative Crusader. The Agnew of the Silent Minority that we remember was completely a construct of Pat Buchanan.

: : : The Tom DeGise that I remember as City Council President was polite and articulate, balanced and fair. A man who was happy to give his take on things to anybody. Since the 2001 campaign for Mayor of Jersey City, some seem intent that Tom DeGise act as the "Anti-Cunningham." Why is that?
