I attended this vigil at Exchange Place with my sister and children. It was very unorganized; Cunningham was a half hour late, nobody knew who was running the event and it was too political. The highlight of the evening was the entertainment, both singers were absolutely wonderful. However during the first song, featuring MJ Medina, our illustrious mayor was giving and recieving political phone numbers and such, 3 feet in front of me!!! I was there with tears in my eyes remembering the person I lost holding my young son and now during the second song Mrs. Mayor did nothing but yawn through the whole thing. Now I understand it was a long day and she was tired but have some class, turn your head or cover your mouth, ANYTHING! There is a time and place for everything, that day and place was not then right one for this man to do what he did. Oh well, I guess I set my hopes too high for him to be a little more supportive and a little selfish.
