Congratulations to Harvey Smith on his election to serve the unexpired term of State Senator for the 31st Legislative District. The 31st District's Democratic Committee members elected Mr. Smith at last night's special meeting by the overwhelming vote of 159 for Smith to 104 for Cunningham, a smashing 60% victory.In so many ways Harvey Smith is a better person than Glenn Cunningham and would have made a much better State Senator. It's too bad the Democratic Primary voters in the 31st District didn't vote last June the way the Democratic Committee members did last night. In my opinion, it's because Cunningham has so many of them buffaloed at this time, because the Urban Times News did such a disgraceful hatchet job on Harvey Smith for the last two years, and because the Hudson County Democratic Organization did such a poor job contrasting Smith's strengths to Cunningham's current weaknesses in the June Primary campaign.

Even though the time is short, represent us well and Good Luck Harvey.
