: Exactly my point....but they (GDC, Ayala, McGee) either don't care about additional debt service caused by their vasilation, are to slow on the up take to understand what those dollars would mean for us average JC residents, are looking for a way to personally profit from refinancing haven't found it yet, or are afraid that they don't have the ability to explain new bonding for refinancing to the public....so they play ostrich. Anyway you look at it...the folks of JC pay the price...for years to come.

: If they screw up - - - reward them. Ayala, McGee, Carter....and a Mayor wil A.D.D. . . . . wonderful choices to lead our city into chaos. As for the financial situation...anyone who follows markets should recognize the sector rotation going on for the past few weeks. Out of high P/E tech ... into low P/E large cap and staples. That reflects a changing interest rate environment ...rates will rise after the first of the year and JC will have lost the chance to lock in lower rates. Another screw up ....thanks Bill.

: : : : I keep reading all these posts about Ayala and his screwups, but nothing about Carlton McGee.  It is the common opinion among most city workers and the business community that the man is a total incompetent.  His Chicago-based financial consultants would have the City in debt and paying interest for tens of years to come.

: : : : McGee came to his job knowing little about local or state government/laws and hasn't shown he has learned any lessons.  He hands out no-bid contracts without regard to purchasing laws.  He has hamstrung Police and Fire in their attempts to modernize and meet homeland security burdens.  He has failed miserably in automating/computerizing the apparatus of City government.  And of course there is the infamous City website created by his buddy Martin Jackson.  

: : Ayala has the Mayor's ear.  McGee does not. McGee is the one competent guy in the list of names above.  He is the only one who knows what he is doing and has deep background and experience doing these things.  Ayala does not, but has the Mayor wrapped around his finger for some very strange reason nobody seems to understand.  If I were a political opponent of Cunningham, I  would pay Ayala to keep right on doing what he is doing and he will lead Cunningham into a financial disaster that will take Mayor Man down. Ayala has allied with Sengco to block McGee out of financial decision.  Ayala and Sengco together could not add up and balance out a grocery order let alone a major debt restructuring. 

: : : : McGee has a notorious reputation for arrogance and heavy handed tactics.  He continually abuses City workers while handing out raises and perks to Cunningham cronies.

: : : : Ayala may be bad, but McGee is far worse. With all due respect Weezil, you are very much mistaken about McGee.
