Cunningham Hosts Seniors’ Summit JERSEY CITY—Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham will host more than 200 of the city’s senior residents during a Seniors Issues Conference, 1 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2004 in the Pavonia room in St. Peter’s College. The conference, where the 235 seniors who have confirmed their participation, is the culmination of a survey of senior residents regarding their priority issues, including Medicare, fraud and crime and housing. During the previous weeks seniors ranked issues they are confronted with, the results of which were gathered by the city office of Senior Affairs. During the Conference groups of seniors will separate into various groups for discussion of these key issues. Cunningham, 60, who is a strong-advocate for senior issues, called for the conference two months ago. “I’ve made senior issues a priority in my administration because for longer than anyone else they have contributed to the betterment of our communities and they deserve all the support elected officials can give. My efforts will not end locally,” said Cunningham, who will begin his legislative tenure at State Senator of the 31st District (Jersey City and Bayonne) on January 13, 2004.///
