Judge hands the freeholders a win, but not one they can use before primary battle is over

Judge sees no reason to set date before primary, rejects barring new raises and hires


The Hudson County Board of Freeholders will get County Executive Bernard Hartnett Jr. in court, but not as quickly as they would have liked.

Hartnett was ordered to appear in state Superior Court on June 6 to explain why he shouldn't be ordered to appear at a future freeholder meeting to be quizzed about pay raises he has granted to non-union employees since he took office in October.
