DeGise wins primary for county exec 06/05/02, Jason Fink, Jersey Journal Former Jersey City Council President Tom DeGise won the Democratic nomination for Hudson County executive in a landslide yesterday. With 404 of 455 districts reporting, DeGise led interim County Executive Bernard Hartnett Jr. of Jersey City, 29,619 to 10,679. All nine incumbent members of the county Board of Freeholders won renomination yesterday. Seven of them ran with DeGise on the Hudson County Democratic Organization slate and two were on Hartnett's Hudson County Reform Democratic organization ticket. "It's very gratifying," DeGise said last night at Democratic organization headquarters on Washburn Street, where he claimed victory at about 9:15 p.m. "All the hard work paid off.
