In Iraq Steven served in Iraq with the Marine Corps as part of the 6th Engineer Support Battalion focused on engineering, logistics, water purification, and fuel farms. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognition for his service including the following: Overseas Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Masts and the Presidential Unit Citation. His unit was an important part of the support and infrastructure that allowed the swift movement through Iraq. Steven arrived in Iraq in early February and was one of the first units to arrive in Baghdad. His unit was written about in numerous periodicals during the war highlighting the company's movements, contributions, and ambushes that they encountered. The New Jersey Star Ledger highlighted Steven Fulop on several occasions as a result of his choice to leave the comforts of Wall Street to serve his country.
