Cunningham said that his post-election actions were devoid of political motives, and he presented clear evidence for his point of view.</font> <font face=arial size=2>: </font> <font face=arial size=2>: Mayor Glenn Cunningham said last week the council has got it all wrong. </font> <font face=arial size=2>: Addressing each allegation of political retribution one by one, Cunningham said that his motives for various recent decisions amount to nothing more than good government. The week before, the council had accused Cunningham of lashing out against supporters of county executive-elect Tom DeGise, and formed an ad hoc committee to investigate those claims. </font> <font face=arial size=2>: DeGise won the Democratic nomination for county executive earlier this month, beating out a man supported by Cunningham. </font> <font face=arial size=2>: During the council meeting, Councilmen Steve Lipski, William Gaughan, and Peter Brennan said they were personally affected by the mayor's actions.
