Although West New York Board of Education employee Jerry Litiza flatly denied pressure to give up his political job with Mayor Glenn Cunningham in Jersey City, rumors persist that North Hudson Democrats have asked him to make a choice between his $55,000 full-time education job or the $25,000 job he has with the Cunningham administration. Litiza is a resident of Jersey City. Cunningham - whose office has not returned calls to confirm or deny rumors - may be making moves to protect political allies. This week reports surfaced that he will give Willie Flood, a long-time Janiszewski ally, a post as director of Health and Human Services for Jersey City. Flood, who served as temporary county Democratic leader after Janiszewski's resignation, would give up her job in the county. "With Tom DeGise coming in as county executive next fall, Cunningham may be moving people into city jobs," one source said. Flood would take over a position currently held by Betty Outlaw, another stalwart of the former Janiszewski administration.
