MUA is being sued by firms it replaced Peter Weiss, Jersey Journal, 06/27/02 A judge has set July 19 as the date for a hearing on a suit that seeks reinstatement of the former lawyer, financial adviser and auditing firm for the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority. However, Superior Court Assignment Judge Arthur D'Italia yesterday refused to issue a restraining order that would have allowed reinstatement in time for tonight's MUA meeting. D'Italia said that because the suit wasn't filed until yesterday, it would be unfair to the defendants to issue the restraints so quickly. He said there was no irreparable harm to the defendants, especially after he was assured the MUA didn't plan to take any formal action at the meeting. Defendants include: the MUA; commissioners Howard Jackson, Margaret Doyle and John Folk; Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham; former Mayor Gerald McCann; Mark Curtis, the attorney who replaced DiNardo; and the Bayonne accounting firm of Donahue, Gironda and Doria, which replaced Klein and Co. ...
