: Between the lines: The not so invisible Sires

: Repeat after me: Albio Sires is not missing. 

: Since the trial of developer Rene Abreu, the rumor mill has been active in predicting Sires' demise. Federal courts apparently leaked Sires' name to both the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Newark Star-Ledger, causing a spurt of rumors suggesting everything from Sires resigning his Assembly seat to his becoming a confidential source in the investigation. 

: One Republican-leaning television station has been churning out the rumors after Sires declined to give an interview. The station, taking its cue from the August 2001 disappearance of then County Executive Robert Janiszewski, claimed Sires had vanished. (Unlikely, since he gave an in-person interview to one of our reporters on Wednesday.)
