Congressman Menendez produces a TV show: Report to the People. Strangely enough -- in Jersey City at any rate -- the same two shows have been airing over and over again each week. And at least one dates from the Clinton era.

I asked the Menendez people about this. They told me that there were a number of current shows. I requested that they send copies to be considered for posting on the Internet. They even asked what size tape I'd like.

I never received anything. Why would a public official not want his own show distributed? I also have to wonder if public funds were used to produce the video. If that's the case, does the Menendez group even have the right to refuse to supply tapes?

When I first established this Board, I made many requests for information. Someone in Congressman Menendez's Jersey City office told me to "read the Jersey Journal." Someone connected with the HCDO told me that they would only send me (public) information if I'd agree to remove postings by the Cunningham side. More recently, someone in Rothman's NJ office stated that the Congressman doesn't send out press releases. I called his Washington office. They said that they'd get back to me. Unfortunately, cobwebs are growing on the phone!
