The death penalty remains a hot topic in New Jersey. The event listed below was organized by supporting organizations around the state with help from NJDPM. Please make every effort to attend. If you are a member of an organization, community group, or house of worship that may be interested in hosting a death penalty informational event, NJDPM can provide speakers at no charge. Featuring: Welcome: Rev. Janet Broderick Kraft, Grace Church Van Vorst Artist: Anitra Haendel, painter, discussing Death Row Portraits Performance: Not in My Name by The Living Theater Author: Pam McAllister, Death Defying: Dismantling the Execution Machinery... Exonerated: Ray Krone, the 100th innocent American freed from death row Activist: Matthew B. Johnson Ph.D., New Jerseyans for a Death Penalty Moratorium Action Workshop: Lorry Post, NJ Coord. Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation and Celeste Fitzgerald, New Jerseyans for a Death Penalty Moratorium The event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be available for $5.00. Drive down Manila and take a right onto Second St. Erie Street and Grace Church will be the next block. If coming from NY, Manila Street will the 2nd left outside of the Holland Tunnel. By Foot: Take the Newark/Journal Sq-bound Path train to Grove St. Walk down Grove St. to Second St. and turn left. Erie Street and Grace Church will be the next block.
