: The Russo Civic Association has been designated as a Chapter in the “PROJECT SOS”.  “SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS” is the brainchild of Marlboro resident Andrea Mesh, “I knew if I asked people, they would help”, Mesh said.

: The program works this way.  Hoboken residents who are serving or have relatives serving need to register with the Civic Association, either by phone 201.792.226, e-mail (russocivic@optonline.net) or stop by at 420 Adams Street any evening.

: Anyone wishing to donate any of the following requested items can deliver them to the Russo Civic Association at 420 Adams Street any Monday beginning June 7, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM or call 201-792-6226 to arrange a pick up, if necessary.

: Some suggestions:	Dry Drink Mixes (Iced Tea, lemonade, Gatorade) * Tuna Fish * Microwave popcorn * Pasta meals * Reading Material * Children’s books (to hand out to Iraqi children) * Toys for kids * Licorice * Candy (individually wrapped) to hand out to Iraqi children * American Flags (to hand out) * Sunglasses *

: It is very important that our soldiers not only receive “Items from the homeland”, but also know that many people are supporting them and their families.  Knowing people from their hometown are concerned with their well-being helps their morale.
