: Up here in the not so chilly (of late) north and west of City Hall, Heights residents witnessed a bit of excitement yesterday. : Margi Daly, Peter Baron and et al. of the Ward D Cunningham club worked tirelessly to field and motivate their troops. : Opposing the Ward D club's efforts was newly minted Smith stalwart supporter, Maureen Corcoran -- formerly of the Ward D Cunningham Club. To the volunteers and committee candidates, Maureen communicated her belief that the cause was lost. : Maureen Corcoran rode about in a Row A van. She waved to one and all, old friend and new friend alike, including the uncommited and even those Central Avenue regulars who really ought to be committed. : The Ward D club had a small army distributing Row B literature. Unfortunately, the infantry didn't seem to realize that the cards were designed to fit over doorknobs. The volunteers put them almost everyplace but on doorknobs. I saw the Row B tags on car antennas, baseball bats, and even a squirrel sporting one as a collar and bib. : I've yet to hear the results!
