It seems that HCDO doesn't just want to stop minorities from voting. Now, senior citizens and the infirm are to be barred, too. What's next, a move to remove the 19th Amendment! This November, will Bill Gaughan be insisting on some sort of mental means test for the residents of senior housing in the Heights before they can vote? #### . . . During an interview after the hearing, Kiczek said he was not happy over the prospect of transporting the sick and elderly residents of the nursing home to the courthouse. Many would have to be taken by ambulance, he said. But Gerald McCann, the former mayor of Jersey City and an HCRDC agent who had been authorized to transport the completed absentee ballots from Liberty House, blamed the HCDO for putting the residents at risk. "He's risking the health of those people. What if somebody dies as a result of this investigation?" he said. "This guy is exploiting senior citizens to control a committee seat." . . .
