Now 38, Terri said the abuse began in 1977 when she was 11 and living in Jersey City where she attended St. Nicholas Parish and school. In the next 11 years, Continuho was transferred to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton, then to St. Jude’s Church in Budd Lake, next to the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wayne and finally to Holy Cross Church in Palmetto, Fla. in 1998.

Terri filed her complaint with the archdiocese of Newark in 2002 and that April, Continuho was ordered to cease acting as a priest. She said she has heard that complaints have been lodged by three other victims of Continuho but has been unable to confirm the reports.
