Piatkowski for Congress For immediate release Contact: Anthony Olszewski FEATURED DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION SPEAKER STILL HOARDING MONEY FROM INDICTED FUNDRAISERS: Perth Amboy – Tonight, New Jersey’s own, Congressman Bob Menendez is set to speak in front of a national audience at the Democratic National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. “While a representative from New Jersey on a national stage should make the residents of the Garden State proud, our Democratic Congressman from District 13 continues to disgrace our state and the residents of Hudson County by hoarding campaign contributions from several indicted Democratic fundraisers,” said Republican District 13 candidate Richard Piatkowski, who is challenging Menendez this November. “While Congressman Menendez will no doubt tow the party line and speak to why America should vote for Democrats this November, Menendez continues to hold onto over $24,000 in campaign contributions from indicted New Jersey Democratic fundraisers.” “Congressman Menendez should know better than to embarrass our state and keep these massive amounts of contributions from indicted fundraisers. These Democratic money-men are charged with everything from insider trading, to illegal kick-back schemes, to hiring prostitutes to frame federal witnesses,” continued Piatkowski. “New Jersey is a proud state made up of honest, hard-working men and women who are subject to a daily barrage of newspaper articles detailing how their elected officials are falling one by one to these constant political scandals. Recently, Democratic fundraisers such as Charles Kushner, Joe Barry, Rene Abreu and Ron Manzo have been brought up on charges by the US Department of Justice on an array of charges stemming from their connections with Democrats throughout the state.” “Now, Bob Menendez has the nerve to speak to America, on national TV and radio, and represent New Jersey, while keeping his dirty campaign cash from these unscrupulous individuals.” Recently, New Jersey Senator Jon Corzine set an ethical example to his fellow Democrats throughout the state by returning all of his campaign contributions received from Charles Kushner. “While Corzine shows the country that New Jersey Democrats can act ethically, Bob Menendez continues to perpetuate the stereotype that all politicians in New Jersey are corrupt.” Menendez fundraising totals from these are as follows:
