: We have nearly a quarter million people in this great city. We have corporations with true professionals in everything from finance to high tech. We have a waterfront business community that rivals just about any other city of our size. We have thousands of new residents in luxury towers on the waterfront. 

: But we have the same old recycled political trash running for office over and over again. I just can't believe that we can't do better than this. People....come on....Ron Bonocoure!?!? Give me a break. Do you people know this guy's history? Its amazing he's not in jail, much less carrying the title of former Chief of Police. Someone put him on the wrong side of that equation. 

: Its time we set aside alliances, political debts, and other considerations and instead looked for someone who is honest, experienced, and dedicated to our community....not themselves. Aren't you tired of seeing the same people ripping off our city? Isn't it time we actually DO a real search for candidates? 

: How about a Community Action Committee of REAL community-minded people...not those hacks that like to hear themselves blather on at Council meetings.....but real community-minded people who can screen potential candidates before the ball gets rolling? 

: How about a coalition of community groups to do a little homework and recruit people to run for office who actually HAVE jobs and are just looking to contribute their skills and experience to the benefit of their city? 

: Don't we deserve a process that brings talented people to the attention of the community? Don't we deserve a process that allows level-headed people who may not have a few million in the bank (like good ole Bret) to run for office? 

: We just need something better than what we have now. If we fail to renew and reform this process, we will continue to suffer through the same political garbage we have had in the past. 

: Come on people.....we can do better than this!!! Let's get the ball rolling and we can change our city and perhaps restore respect to the office of Mayor.
