Gov. James E. McGreevey's problems with the Hudson County Democratic Organization leadership apparently aren't as great as some people believe, or want to believe. Sources say the governor is coming here next week to endorse the entire HDCO slate in the Democratic primary.

In particular, HCDO leaders want his support in the 31st Legislative District, where they're engaged in a battle that has captured statewide attention. Assemblyman and Bayonne Mayor Joseph Doria is seeking re-election on the HCDO slate while Jersey City Mayor Glenn Cunningham heads the rival Democrats for Hudson County slate as its state Senate candidate.
