Why do I get the distinct impression that that certain cretin who's been doing the cutandpaste crosspost on every board in Hudson County (claiming to be a cop, a woman, pianokeys, etc.) and posting a lot of great white hope hoopla (makin like Glenn is going to let loose the boogeymen at Newport and only Bobby Menendez's wind-up wooden soldier mayors (after all, it would be like so nasty to call them puppets and they are too big anyhow) is between like the vast (If I wanted to wax Churchillian, I'd add "brutish." I'd be tempted to throw in "docile," too, but as nobody studies Latin or picks up a dictionary anymore, the effect would be like totally lost) hordes of the east and the sanctity of female virute, as I was trying to say before I so rudely interrupted myself by a like derailed train of thought, why do I believe that that certain individual (WHO IS ANONYMOUS! NOBODY KNOWS WHO HE IS! IT'S LIKE PETER PARKER AND SPIDERMAN JUMPING RIGHT OUTTA YER SCREEN!!!) will not be highlighting and copying the text from the post to which this rant is a followup? : Yep, back in Winter-Spring-Summer of 97 (the-election-without-end) the present and current newly-duly annointed Kounty Konniver slobbered all over himself in the throwaway that nobody in Jersey City reads (As a Doctor friend of mine once remarked to someone seeking free advice, "Something given without charge is, by definition, worthless."). Balancing his checkbook, wordsmith Jim now believed that a credit was due, so the deposit slip got sent off to 280 Grove. Luckily, thankfully, Bret was not his usual decisive self here and held a seance with his top familiar. The sage advice was redered: "As it stands now, you've got almost every wet-powder, woulduv-coulduv-shoulduv, wannabee Napoleon of Hudson County Politics on the payroll now. Don't be greedy, you don't need to corner the market in these characters." So now the Konniver goes back to his grimy keyboard and declares war. From GOD BLESS YOU BRET, the pendulum precipitously swings and every articles rips Schundler, at one point comparing him to the Devil, even. Since the readership hovered about 59, not even reaching room temperature, it seemed pretty futile. But as we see now, the the Old Hudson County Adage is proved yet again: "You can fool all of the people, some of the time; you can fool some of the people all of the time -- AND THAT'S ALL IT TAKES TO GET OVER!!!!"
