I heard that Buonocore pledged when he announced his candidacy that he wouldn't resign as police captain to campaign for Mayor. He said he'd take sick and vacation days instead to campaign for mayor. That's pretty unorthodox. I think that taking sick days to campaign is illegal. That leaves him with just vacation days. He can't have too many of those because when he retired from his last high paying City JCPD job, I'm pretty sure he was paid for all his remaining vacation days. Can anybody out there confirm this?
