Bayonne -Vincent Militello, candidate for the State Senate Democratic primary for the 31st District, reported in the most recent round of finance reports that his war chest has more than doubled the clearest sign yet that Militello is poised to upset the two Jersey City insiders also in the race. “I’ve been speaking with voters from 1st Street in Bayonne to Journal Square, and I couldn’t be happier about the support my campaign is receiving,” Militello said. “Almost unanimously, people are telling me they are tired of the mudslinging and dirty campaigning that my opponents are engaged in. People want a clean campaign about what is best for Bayonne and Jersey City.” Militello, a 37-year-old former Marine Corps Captain and Hudson County prosecutor, is a lifelong resident of Bayonne with fresh ideas and a hard work ethic that can shock Trenton into taking action to lower property taxes, fight spiraling auto insurance premiums and improve our children’s schools. He is a sorely needed independent voice in Trenton. “While the two Hudson County machines battle over who they think should represent the 31st District, I’ve been out talking with voters about who they think should be the next state senator,” Militello said. “The response is overwhelming. People want a Democrat who is independent and isn’t beholden to the machine. People want someone who will go to Trenton as a full-time legislator to look out for what is best for the people of Bayonne and Jersey City, not the special interest groups or political cronies.”
