It's not so easy to pull the signs down...they put them up with spray adhesives and you may be able to deface a sign but it's mighty difficult to pull down the whole sign and if you do manage to get them down, you've got a nasty residue left from the adhesive. : : You forgot to mention that it was McCann, as mayor, put that "No Posting on Public Property" sign ordinance in place right before his campaign against Cunningham. : Not so. : McCann didn't run while Mayor against Cunningham. McCann lost to Cucci. Four years later, McCann, Cucci, Cunningham (and probably others lost to memory at the moment) ran for Mayor. McCann and Cunningham went into a runoff. When the runoff election took place (When McCann ran against Cunningham), Cucci was still Mayor. : I think that there always was some sort of no posting on poles law (PSEG sent some poor galoot to threaten me with legal action years ago. I told them to take me to court. I planned on getting on record every PSEG bigwig and every candidate for the last 7 years). The current ordinance was put in under Schundler and Degise. : The Central Avenue SID is a good example on how to handle the mess -- just pull 'em down as fast as they go up! You want to show support? Do the right thing and ask businesses and residents to display your candidate's sign.
