The polls are done citywide. The same company that did the polls for Glenn are doing them for Willie. Stop trying to put shti in the game. : Why don't they release the complete poll to anyone ? : Here's why. : The poll was conducted in Ward F only. Lou Manzo had a lead of 11% over all others listed in the poll (3 listed were Afro Americans Flood , Smith& Allen). If Manzo is ahead in Ward F by 11 % : As usual the UTN does not report all of the facts. : : Urban Times News : : By Arnold Stovell : : When Willie Flood was First approached with the opportunity to run for mayor she declined. The prospect of running for the office of the man who meant so much to her was daunting, not because she was incapable of handling the rigors of campaigning and service, but because it would continue to broaden the rift already dividing Jersey City and her people. : : Outside reports on the findings of the poll conducted by the Reform Democratic Party were already leaked before her announcement, purporting Lou Manzo as their defacto candidate. What outsiders did not consider was that polls are only as useful as the people who interpret them. : : We asked Ms. Flood about her decision to run, "I would not have done it if the polls did not say I could do it. Jersey City has been through a lot in the past few months, and the only reason to run was because the people want to see me run." : : Would it be hard for her to work around the justified anger and resentment that she could have for her opponent? "We've got to put things that are in the past to the side in order to make it to the future. Jersey City needs healing. The people of Jersey City deserve an elected official who will put them first, and not county bosses." : : Willie Flood was the obvious choice. She has served Jersey City as a school teacher for some 30 plus years. She has served on the board of education. She has served on the city council. She is familiar with these circumstances, having filled the un-expired term of former councilwoman Maureen Collier. She is the one true legitimate candidate in this race that had the relationship with Glenn Cunningham that they claim. We are very confident and glad that Willie has accepted this call to service with the same grace that she has shown in the past." : : According to Bobby Jackson, publisher of the Urban Times News and Reform Democrat Party big-wig, the polls made the difference in his decision. There were good numbers for Lou Manzo, and Buonocore, but Willie Flood was within two or three percentage points of the leaders without having announced that she was ever intending to run. We don't just run a popularity contest, we consider what the people say they want to see, and from the polls, the people want to see Willie Flood in office." : : When asked about the support of Sandra Cunningham, conspicuously absent from the proceedings and RDC, Mrs. Flood was kind and gracious. This reporter however could not help but notice the lack of sparkle in her demeanor when touching on the sensitive topic. "We are of course disappointed that Mrs. Cunningham has supported another candidate against the party that her husband founded, but we recognize what she has been through and we recognize that it is her right to choose whomever she wants to support. This is America and everyone has the right to make their own decisions."
