Support proves she's a strong candidate Jersey City, NJ - Jersey City Mayoral candidate Willie Flood garnered 800 signatures on her petitions for the November special election. Ms. Flood and her supporters turned in her petitions at the County Clerk's office. "I'm very pleased with the support I'm receiving from so many Jersey City residents," said Ms. Flood, who was an aide to the late Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham. "it very gratifying to see so many people eager to assist me in my run for the Mayor's office. Also, I'm proud to announce that Freeholder Jeffery Dublin will serve as my Campaign Chairman." She is a former Jersey City Councilwoman and a member of the Jersey City Board of Education. Ms. Flood's first fund raiser is scheduled for September 30, 2004 at the Liberty House Restaurant. In a recent poll, prior to Ms. Flood declaring her intentions to run for Mayor, she placed in the top three candidates. She also had greater name recognition among voters than some of the other individuals in the poll.
