(Jersey City) Judge Thomas Oliveri dismissed The Hudson County Democratic Organization’s lawsuit against the Cunningham Campaign. All the accounts: Cunningham for Senate 2003, Cunningham Team, Lou Manzo for Assembly, Anthony Chiappone for Assembly, Melba Walsh for County Executive and Willie Flood for County Clerk accounts can proceed as usual.
The “North Hudson Bosses” have done everything possible to “steal” this election and have done nothing to win it. They have tried to disenfranchise voters by asking the Hudson County Clerk to reject voter registrations because of the color of the ink used to fill the forms. The Cunningham Team has registered nearly 3,000 new voters for the upcoming June primary.
“Instead of talking about their own accomplishments, they’ve tried to mislead the people by attacking Cunningham and his team with $2 million in negative ads for televisions, radio and direct mail. Maybe they’re only running attack ads because there is nothing positive to say about their own candidate. After all, Harvey’s biggest claim to fame is that he’s the fourth all time leading rebounder on a Division III mens basketball team. This is the big leagues and he can’t play.”
"This petty attempt by the Hudson County Democratic Organization to tarnish a distinguished career of a law enforcement officer's exemplary record of public service has been rightfully dismissed." Eason also noted, "The difference between Glenn Cunningham and those characters is that when Glenn was given a background check by the FBI he wound up being appointed by the President of the United States to be the United States Marshal for New Jersey. When these characters find out the FBI is investigating them, they call their criminal defense attorneys and start to worry." "Glenn Cunningham will put his record as a law enforcement officer up against any of these characters any day of the week!" Eason said.
Just two weeks ago the HCDO and its lawyers falsely reported that judge Oliveri handed down an injunction. That never happened./////
