: NEWARK - The jury in Hudson County Freeholder Nidia Davila-Colon's corruption trial will be permitted to listen to a recorded conversation between her and government informant Dr. Oscar Sandoval about envelopes she passed to former Hudson County Executive Robert Janiszewski at least three years before the bribes she is now accused of passing took place, the judge in the case ruled yesterday. 

: The inclusion of those conversations as evidence will be a boost for the prosecution, which must prove that Davila-Colon knowingly passed $10,000 in bribe money to the then-county executive in 1999 from Sandoval, with whom she had a romantic relationship.

: Attorneys for Davila-Colon, who has pleaded innocent, will argue that she did not know what was in the envelopes and therefore should not be convicted on the five fraud and extortion charges she faces.
