Healy's pose of running on the Kerry ticket is a very strange thing and is certain to provoke comment.

If one looks at the Menendez Web Site (who is running on the same ticket as John Kerry), you'll see a clear -- but concise -- statement of support of the Democratic Presidential candidate. At Healy's Site, Kerry is all over the Main Page. On the Central Avenue Healy Office I see that there's now what looks like a 20 ft sign with KERRY and HEALY in big equal sized letters.

I'm just curious to what degree this might backfire. If the Healy crew does manage to fool enough people into thinking that Healy is part of the Kerry line, what's going to happen when these voters get in the booth and try to vote a straight column? If their hand never strays to the horizontal, as they've been trained, I'd guess that none of the Mayoral candidates will get that vote.
