You are right Tom. Its a shame that the level of discourse has gotten so low this time around. When Schundler ran, at least issues were discussed and ideas bounced around. This time its just a string of personal attacks. We've been through an endless string of campaigns over the past few years, but this one has reached a new low. When civility disappears, and people's families become targets for opponents to throw disgusting accusations at, its time to recognize that we've hit a new low. Your mom is in my prayers.

: : One can only imagine how distasteful it is to read about your 87 year old Mom on this cesspool of a message board. my Mom entered Cusack Center last year after suffering thru both a serious injury and an illness. She entered as a non-medicaid patientas there were and still are open beds at this great facility. In fact they have asked us to distribute their pamphlets to help attract new clients. Any child who is faced with the decision of placing a parent in a nursing home, as my sister and I have, knows how heart wrenching that decision is. To have this used as political fodder to score points in an election I am not even a candidate in is the act of an anonymous coward. This is a one time response as I will not enter this sty again. I have supplied my personal email for anyone wishing any intelligent discourse on this or anything else.BTW, Dan Battista's mom passed awy several decades ago. Where exactly is the line we are not suopposed to cross? Tom
