Davila-Colon's lawyer rips ex-exec's credibility

NEWARK - The attorney representing Hudson County Freeholder Nidia Davila-Colon in her federal corruption trial continued yesterday to pound away at the credibility of former County Executive Robert Janiszewski, the government's star witness, portraying him as a perennial liar who is testifying in the case to draw a lighter jail sentence.

Janiszewski, the four-term county executive and former Democratic powerbroker, generally remained calm while on the stand, repeating his allegations that Davila-Colon passed him thousands of dollars in bribe money from Dr. Oscar Sandoval, a Union City psychiatrist who held county contracts, during the 1990s.
