In a last-ditch effort to salvage a 23-year career in the Legislature, Assemblyman Joseph Doria said yesterday he would demand a recount of unofficial election results that showed him losing Tuesday's Democratic primary.

Caught in the crossfire of a feud between two warring Hudson County Democratic power brokers, Doria trailed challenger Louis Manzo in the unofficial tally yesterday, 10,460 to 10,908.
