Doria lawyer targets many provisional votes

The counting of provisional ballots cast in the 31st District during last week's Democratic primary continued late last night, even though it won't change the results.

However, once the count is complete, a recount of all ballots cast in the district is expected to be requested by Assemblyman Joseph V. Doria Jr. of Bayonne.

Doria, who is also mayor of Bayonne, lost his bid for nomination to a 13th term in the Legislature. He and first-term Assemblywoman Elba Perez-Cinciarelli of Jersey City were defeated in the primary by Bayonne Councilman Anthony Chiappone and former county Freeholder Louis Manzo of Jersey City.
