As expected, Sen. Bernard Kenny of Hoboken was re-elected Hudson County Democratic chairman without opposition Wednesday night.

That's because the opposition, whose leader is Jersey City Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham, stayed home.

The mayor, himself, was on vacation after his hard-fought victory in the 31st District Democratic primary for Senate against the Hudson County Democratic Organization choice, Jersey City Council President L. Harvey Smith.
