If Schundler is depending on Nancy Gaynor fro any sort a support he is setting out to sea in an inner tube with a nail in it.

Nancy Gaynor was absolutely worthless poltically. The lousy council in 1997 was one a the big reasons that Healy pushed Bret's face in the dirt in the first round election.

Nancy Gaynors son loused up stealing trees and making the disadvantaged even work on the taxpayer dime at planting them at his house. I thinks that it was out a town even, but of that I'm not certain. With a silly feeling of being sorry for her because she was sick, instead of sending her off into oblivion Schundler keeps her on the ticket where she does hardly a step of campaigning. Schundler was lucky that Bettinger knocked Nancy off a the ticket for with the boat anchor necklace Schundler might gone overboard himself in the runoff.

Then there was Catehrine Macchis, darling of classmate Degise and weirdo Kennelly. Cateherine Macchi strutted about treating one and all in Ward A as if they was squatters on her private estate. Voters gave her the boot solid and fast. You got the hand it to the Macchis, with a little back alley crummy storefront they have fooled one and all for a generation know that they is some sort a powerhouse at generating votes while the truth is that they is nothing but candles that you cants even read the big letters of the Daily News front page by. Macchi loses as Mayor and Dr Paul is a joke as running for governor. At least Jordan knew to do the right thing and pack up his bags and leave town. Schundler is humiliated running Macch for CE, with big shot out a town republican brain trust calling the shots. Macchi didn't hardly even go throught he motions himself knowing that he wasn't worth but a pebble in a shoe. And after defeats does Schundler send them away cause reality showed them to be cons. No Schundler rewards them as if they is like fine people in exile to be cherished for the good works that they have performed.

Schundler rewarded Nancy Gaynor allsos with a doing nothing but talk on the phone all day in an office run by the lost in the sauce, or out in the field as they so politiely phrased it, Neil, of the Deputy Mayor caliber, I hope that I don't wet my pants laughing. Was this a joke on the part of Schundler on what he really thought of the Jersey City mayors office that Neil was good for next in line? At least Cunningham knew to cut the ropes on Nancy Gaynor, but even he kept close to Catherine Macchi until she backstabbed him.

And there was too the the invisible man MacLaughling like the council needed two undertakers. So good for nothing the old time residents of B thought Odea still was sitting in the council. Just a political pothole, MacLaughlin didn't do no capaigning whatsover and was luck to get put out of his misery by Mary Donnelly.

And what a laught the signs started of in 97. All the regal council demanded that their name be given equal billing as Schundler so as you couldn't read the little letters no how no way. And supposedly, though I only know from someone at Degises end a the phone, Degise still lays down the law to Schundler that all organizing in Jersey City is supposed to get his blessing like DEgise is the godfather of Jersey CIty politics. It's hard to guess if Degise cracked up maybe with Gaughan feeding him swill to the ears or if the huffand puff bull actually generally works on mosts people and so he gets what he wants.
