Three weeks after the voting, the 31st District Democratic primary fight is still far from over, and a new twist looms if the Hudson County Democratic Organization decides to test a law regarding excess campaign contributions in its efforts to overturn the results.

But HCDO leaders say they now have reason to believe this spending continued, and that it reached an amount that could cause the courts to void the primary election results. If - and it seems like an awfully big if - that happened, new Democratic candidates for the general election would be picked by Democratic county committee members living in the 31st District.
