: : : : When one has such a deep seated hatred for another due to his perceived deviation from the norm, it is a reflection of the hater's lack of self-image and ability to identify with those he would consider "normal". Thus he sees himself as a reflection of the one he professes to hate. 

: : : : In this case it seems the writer has not dealt with his own lack of sexual identity, and therefore must "hate" anyone who may provide a reflection of his "inner self". This theory is further bolstered by the writer's use of the word "passion" when describing his own feelings of hatred towards Mr. Manzo. As we all know, there is a very thin line between love and hate. In this case it is apparent that the writer has "feelings" for Mr. Manzo which he has yet to reconcile.
