I am VERY concerned that with Healy slipping badly in the polls DeGise (who controls the Voting Machines) will try something dsperate to ensure a Healy victory. I don't trust this guy for one second! : : Jersey City, NJ - Kim B. Greene, Ward F Leader of the Reform Democratic Committee of Jersey City and Standard Bearer of the late Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham, has sent US Attorney Christopher Christie a letter requesting that he provide election monitors to oversee the Jersey City polling places during the special November election. Why? : : Gerald McCann is Assemblyman Louis Manzo's campaign manager and it is reported that the Manzo/McCann team intends to use similar tactics as in 1985 to encourage the minority voters from voting on Election Day. : : "On behalf of the residents of Jersey City and especially the minority voting community, I would like to request that you provide election monitors to oversee polling activities for the special election on November 2, 2004 at all polling places in Jersey City," said Greene in his letter to Christie. : : In 1985, Gerald McCann ran for the office of Mayor and during that election, he encouraged his election workers to use various tactics that infringed upon the voting rights of many African American voters. He and his political allies prevented and delayed numerous voters from casting their vote for the candidate of their choice. They were charged with disenfranchising the minority vote. : : "We do not want history to repeat itself since Gerald McCann is the campaign manager for Assemblyman Louis Manzo, who is running for Mayor. We are concerned that the Manzo/McCann team intends to use every ploy to ensure a victory for Manzo, including intimidation against voters," stated Greene. "It is our hope that on Election Day, November 2, 2004, The US Attorney's Office will do everything in their power to ensure the residents of Jersey City an opportunity to cast their vote for the candidates of their choice without the fear of their civil rights being violated. Let's not have another election stolen by a candidate that allows the voters to be disenfranchised. Don't allow what happened in Florida to happen in New Jersey."
