DON’T TRUST LOU MANZO Judge OKs witness list in case against former McGreevey aide NEW YORK - A District Court judge signed an order approving the government's list of potential witnesses in its insider trading case against Gary Taffet, a former top aide to Gov. James E. McGreevey. Included on the list approved Thursday by Judge Shira Scheindlin are several high profile Democrats, including developer Charles Kushner, a top donor who has been charged in a separate federal obstruction case; George Norcross, a prominent behind-the-scenes player in Democratic Party politics in southern New Jersey; state Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Roberts (D-Camden); former McGreevey aide Paul Levinsohn and Assemblyman Louis Manzo (D-Hudson), whose brother admitted to tipping Taffet to the insider stock tips. Federal Charges against Manzo. Commencing in or around 1998, in violation of the duties of trust and confidence he owed to his wife, Gallucci started tipping Manzo about the identities of the companies targeted for acquisition in transactions. From the onset, Gallucci told Manzo that the tips were based on information that he obtained from his wife, who had learned it in the course of her employment by an attorney who worked on mergers and acquisitions. Gallucci disclosed this information to Manzo with the knowledge and intent that Manzo would use it for trading purposes. Thereafter, Gallucci continued to tip Manzo, and Manzo continued to purchase securities of the target companies and to recommend them Gallucci conveyed the tips in telephone calls from New York and in person, at Manzo’s “RAM Insurance Company” located on Westside avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. THE PUBLIC DESERVES THE TRUTH !
